WebCCD was created to generate detailed finder charts using actual images of the sky that match a specific imaging system. The images of the sky are derived from the STScI Digitized Sky Survey (DSS). The maximum field size allowed by the DSS is 60x60 arc-minutes. As a result, WebCCD is also limited. If the selected parameters exceed this limitation, WebCCD will still build the resulting image to the specified detector size with the DSS composite of 1 sq degree centered and properly rotated. Returned FITS images include a WCS in the header.
