If using the SIMBAD, Asteroid or Comet lookup buttons, enter the object identifer i.e.(alf Ori, M42, 102216, C/2020 F3, etc.) in the object fields. Identifiers are otherwise unnecessary.
RA and DEC may be entered manually in sexagesimal or decimal form. RA should be entered in hours. Sexagesimal entries may be annotated in any of the usual methods.
Swap is used to change the positions of Object 1 and Object 2.
The "Asteroid" and "Comet" lookup buttons will use the current date (UTC).
Coordinates from SIMBAD are ICRS (ep=J2000). The calculator does not precess coordinates.
