Produces an image of the Galilean moons with respect to Jupiter. The image is viewed as an erect-image system with east-left and north-up. Labels for moons that are inferior, in front of Jupiter from our perspective, are above that moon's position. Likewise, moons that are superior have labels below that moon's position. Moons that are occulted or eclipsed are displayed as dark gray as is the label.

 


Produces an image of the paths of the Galilean moons with respect to Jupiter for the given month and year. Each moon is identified by color, which is noted in the upper right of the image. The center beam representing Jupiter is now just a guide and is not scaled to the equatorial diameter. Instead, the tracks will show breaks equal to the length of time the moon is not visible. This allows the tool to deliver better information about when a given moon will be in transit, occultation or eclipse.

 


Produces a text table of the Galilean moons denoting the times of eclipses, occultations, transits and shadow transits for a 24 hour period in 1 minute increments. The start time begins from the entered Universal Time.

 


Produces a plain text list of timing events for a 5 day period based on the given date.

 


A web page displaying the current Jupiter System and ephemeris.

 


Produces a web page displaying the disk of Jupiter, positions of the satellites (see Jupiter System note above), and ephemeris based on the date entered above. The System II Longitude for determining the position and transit times of the Great Red Spot is extrapolated from an epoch of known position and assumes a monthly drift of approximately 1.75 degrees.
